Word of the Day: Transparency

March 2, 2010
Transparency
, as used in the humanities and in a social context more generally, implies openness, communication, and accountability. It is a metaphorical extension of the meaning a “transparent” object is one that can be seen through. (defined by Wikipedia)  In dealing with the virtual business world it is exceptionally important that one be “transparent” to their contacts, their readers, the people they interact with.  The minute you lose your transparency, you will lose your customers, your prospects, your readers, your followers.  You might as well pack your bags and go to the desert to live as a nomad and hermit.
